Autobiography

My name is Zabrina Harden and I currently work as an Assistant Director at Minnieland Academy in Westchester Commons. I am also a mother of two beautiful girls ages 12 & 14. Being a mother allows me the opportunity to express my natural love for children which overflows to the kids I see every day at work. In the last 15 years I have had the opportunity to expand on my experiences by fulfilling many positions. I spend time in the classrooms working and interacting with all age groups. It brings joy to my heart to see their smiling faces as you sing and read to them. I treasure all of the relationships that I have built with the staff, children and families I have had the pleasure of meeting over the years. The interactions that you share with children are so priceless and beneficial. I have always been told that I have a natural talent with young children, and I feel that I am in the best career to exhibit this. It is important to me to value each child’s individuality and recognize each ones potential. As a mother I always try to place myself in the parent’s position to ensure that I am fulfilling their expectations for their child. I develop a caring and supportive rapport with my staff to promote their success as well. Working with children is a special gift and as early childhood providers we are the first impression of what children should expect from their teachers so it is very important to be positive examples. It is really significant that we step up to this task fully prepared and ready to send them off with a beautiful beginning. This year I will be graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Education from J Sergeant Reynolds Community College. I am excited to continue learning and providing loving care to the kids I meet.
